This dessert is very pretty and tasty.
You can make this for any special occasions or valentine day.
In the video, I am going to show you how to make the chocolate custard, but you can make vanilla/ lemon/ rhum custard depend on your choice. Just substitute the cocoa powder.
Preparation time: 40 mins
Baking time: 35-40 mins.
Recipe (for 12 medium size swans)
1 egg yolk
2 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp cocoa powder/ 1 teaspoon vanilla extract/ 1 tbspn lemon juice and 1 teaspoon lemon zest
Drop of rhum (optional) for vanilla rhum custard
1 teaspoon corn starch
1 teaspoon flour
For the choux:
125 ml water
50 gr butter/margarine
65 gr all purpose flour
2 medium size egg
pinch of salt
Preheat the oven at 200 degree Celcius, and follow the instruction in the video.
Bake choux at 200 degree Celcius (392 degree F) for 10 minutes and lower the temperature to 180 degree Celcius (356 degree F) for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
For the head, bake at 200 degree Celcius for 10 minutes.
Assemble the swan and adore them before eating :)
Make sure that the water and butter are boiled before adding the flour. It will create drier and crispy skin of the choux.
Do not open the oven door during baking, because the choux may collapse. To make sure that the choux is ready, check whether there are water/ oil bubbles on the surface of the choux. It should be dry if it is ready.
